Maruti Suzuki Invicto earns 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating in India

Maruti’s premium three-row strong hybrid UV, the Invicto (rebadged Toyota Innova HyCross), has received a 5-star safety rating from Bharat New Car Assessment Program (Bharat NCAP). This makes the Invicto part of Maruti Suzuki’s growing lineup of top-rated models, alongside the recently rated Dzire and Victoris.

The Invicto is positioned as a high-end utility vehicle and comes equipped with a range of safety features under the company’s NEXA Safety Shield initiative. Key highlights include six airbags as standard, electronic stability program (ESP) with hill hold assist, all-disc brakes, a 360-degree view camera and Suzuki Connect with e-call functionality. Additional features such as electronic parking brake with auto hold, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX child seat mounts and 3-point ELR seatbelts further enhance occupant safety.

Commenting on the achievement, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India, said that the recognition reflects the company’s long-standing focus on safety. He also highlighted that Maruti Suzuki now offers six airbags as standard across 15 models, including entry-level hatchbacks, sedans, SUVs and premium UVs.

The Bharat NCAP rating underscores the Invicto’s structural integrity and ability to meet stringent crash safety tests covering frontal, side and pedestrian impact scenarios. With this certification, Maruti Suzuki aims to reassure customers that its premium hybrid UV combines innovation with a strong focus on safety.
