Skoda launches Kodiaq Lounge 5-seater at Rs. 39.99 lakhs with fewer features
Skoda has expanded the Kodiaq range in India with the launch of a new Lounge variant, priced at Rs. 39.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). Positioned below the Sportline and Laurin & Klement (L&K) trims, the Lounge version introduces a 5-seat layout and a more accessible entry point into the Kodiaq line-up, albeit with a reduced features list compared to higher trims.
Pricing and Positioning
The Kodiaq Lounge sits Rs. 3.77 lakh below the Sportline and is priced Rs. 5.97 lakh lower than the flagship L&K Selection. Following the updated GST 2.0 structure, the overall Kodiaq range now spans from Rs. 39.99 lakh to Rs. 45.96 lakh.
Exterior Updates
On the outside, the Lounge trim distinguishes itself with new 18-inch Mazeno alloy wheels. Buyers can choose from three paint finishes: Moon White, Magic Black and Graphite Grey. Higher trims continue to offer additional colour options, including exclusive shades like Race Blue, Velvet Red, Steel Grey and Bronx Gold.
Interior and Features
The shift to a 5-seat configuration frees up significant cargo room, expanding boot space from 281 litres in the 7-seater to 786 litres. Inside, the Lounge features grey fabric and faux-suede upholstery, complemented by a two-spoke steering wheel. While it retains the same safety equipment as the higher trims, certain amenities are absent: the infotainment system is a smaller 10.4-inch unit (versus the 12.9-inch in higher trims), it uses a 9-speaker 100W audio system instead of the Canton 13-speaker setup and it misses features such as gesture-controlled tailgate operation and a 360-degree camera.
Powertrain
Mechanically, the Kodiaq Lounge is unchanged. It continues with the 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 204 HP, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Power is distributed to all four wheels through the brand’s all-wheel-drive system.
