Hyundai Exter facelift interior features
Interior to feature new 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 9.9-inch digital instrument cluster
Hyundai has confirmed that its upcoming A+ segment SUV, namely the Exter facelift, will be the first model in India to get the next-gen infotainment system. As mentioned above, the two screens – a 12.9-inch central touchscreen and a 9.9-inch digital instrument display – run on the latest Android Auto OS, which will make the Exter the first mass-market car in India to use Google’s software; only Volvo’s cars currently use AAOS. The infotainment system will be able to update its Maps via OTA (over-the-air updates), and be compatible with a variety of third-party applications, unlike the current system.
Other changes to the Exter facelift’s interior are expected to include new upholstery and additional safety kit, though no major changes to the cabin area.
Hyundai Exter facelift exterior and engine options
83hp petrol and 69hp CNG likely to continue unchanged
There is no word yet on what the Exter facelift will look like as the model has yet to be spied or teased by Hyundai. However, we expect some changes to its design, particularly the soft parts, to bring it in-line with the likes of the next-gen Venue, prices for which will be revealed on November 4.
In terms of powertrain options, the Exter facelift is expected to retain the current model’s engine and gearbox options. The current sub-compact SUV comes with an 83hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine that has 5-speed AMT and manual transmission options, and a 69hp CNG-powered version in manual form only. Speaking of the Exter CNG, it is available in single cylinder and dual-cylinder form, though it has yet to be confirmed if the facelift will have both options as well.
