TVS Apache RTX engine details
New engine makes 36hp and 28.5Nm
The TVS Apache RTX is powered by the all-new 299cc RT-XD4 engine, which was first unveiled at MotoSoul 2024. This engine produces 36hp at 9,000rpm and 28.5Nm of torque at 7,000rpm, making it the manufacturer’s second most powerful bike after the Apache RR 310.
This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and comes equipped with a bidirectional quickshifter. TVS also mentions that it has been tuned to deliver linear performance across the rev band with an emphasis on low-end torque.
TVS Apache RTX hardware and features
Gets switchable traction control, ride modes, and cruise control
The Apache RTX is positioned as an adventure tourer and not an outright off-roader. TVS made it clear during the launch event that this bike is designed primarily for tarmac use, with enough versatility to tackle light off-road riding.
The bike is built around an all-new steel trellis frame suspended by a 41mm USD fork and a monoshock at the rear. Suspension travel at both ends is 180mm, while ground clearance stands at 200mm. It rides on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup, wrapped in tyres that TVS says have been specially designed for use on this bike.
Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends, paired with dual-channel ABS. The RTX also gets a seat height of 835mm and a kerb weight of 180kg.
In terms of features, the bike is impressively equipped. It offers four riding modes – Urban, Rain, Tour, and Rally – that alter ABS and traction control intervention. Cruise control comes as standard across all variants.
On the higher-spec variants, a 5-inch TFT display with dedicated switchgear provides access to key functions, and when connected via the TVS SmartXonnect app, it also enables Google Maps mirroring and other connected features.
TVS has also partnered with Givi for a range of touring accessories including panniers, top boxes, and tank bags. Additionally, as part of its ongoing collaboration with Alpinestars, TVS will launch a new line of adventure riding gear, from dual-sport helmets to riding boots.

The TVS Apache RTX will be available in three variants – Base, Top, and BTO (Built To Order). The Base variant is priced at Rs 1.99 lakh and gets most of the aforementioned features including the ride modes and cruise control. At these introductory prices, the base TVS Apache RTX is priced almost identically to the Suzuki V-Strom SX and Yezdi Adventure that cost Rs 1.98 lakh, and undercuts the KTM 250 Adventure that’s priced at Rs 2.40 lakh by a fair margin.
