Volvo EX30 launches in India with limited pre-reserve pricing, November deliveries
Volvo Car India has announced pricing and availability details for the EX30, its compact all-electric SUV, positioning it as the brand’s most affordable EV yet in the country. The EX30 carries an introductory price of Rs. 41,00,000/- (ex-showroom), with a limited pre-reserve offer of Rs.39,99,000/- available until October 19, 2025. Customer deliveries are slated to begin in the first week of November 2025 and five exterior colours will be offered at launch.
As part of Volvo’s localisation push, the EX30 becomes the third Volvo EV to be assembled at the Hosakote plant near Bengaluru. Every unit ships with an 11 kW wall box charger (third-party supplied) and an 8-year/160,000 km battery warranty. A bundled “hassle-free ownership” package includes 3 years comprehensive vehicle warranty, service package, roadside assistance, 5 years of connected services (Connect Plus) and the charger.
The car arrives with a sustainability pitch: Volvo says the EX30 has the lowest lifecycle carbon footprint of any fully electric Volvo to date, aided by extensive use of recycled materials in the cabin, including denim, PET, aluminium and repurposed PVC. The model has earned a five-star Euro NCAP rating and has picked up design and industry recognition, including Red Dot: Best of the Best (2024) and World Urban Car of the Year 2024.
Powertrain and performance (Single Motor – Extended Range)
The India-spec EX30 variant pairs a 272 HP motor with 343 Nm of torque and a 69 kWh lithium-ion battery. Volvo quotes a WLTP range of 480 km, 0-100 km/hr in 5.3 seconds, a top speed of 180 km/hr and rear-wheel drive via an automatic transmission.
Safety and driver assistance
Standard assistance tech includes Safe Space Technology with a sensor suite (cameras, radars and ultrasonic sensors), Intersection Auto-Brake, Auto Emergency Braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, Lane Keeping Aid, BLIS, Adaptive Cruise Control, 360° camera with Park Pilot Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert with auto-brake and post-impact braking.
Interior, tech and convenience
Inside, the EX30 features a fixed panoramic roof, two-zone climate control with an air-quality system and particulate sensor, power-adjustable front seats with lumbar, 40/60 split-folding rear bench, 7-litre frunk and 318-litre boot. A Harman Kardon soundbar (1040 W, nine speakers) is paired with five ambient lighting themes. The 12.3-inch centre display runs Google built-in with 5G and OTA updates, while Apple CarPlay is supported. Wireless charging, large door pockets and rear phone storage are included. Access can be via Digital Key Plus in the Volvo Cars app or an NFC card.
Exterior and equipment
On the outside, the EX30 gets LED headlamps with active high beam, daytime running lights, a power tailgate and 19-inch 5-spoke aero wheels shod with summer tyres. One-pedal drive is available.
Market positioning
With its price-led entry and local assembly, the EX30 aims to broaden Volvo’s EV footprint in India while leaning on sustainability credentials, contemporary design and a lengthy warranty/ownership bundle. The pre-reserve incentive narrows the entry point further, though it is time-bound and subject to dealer-level details.
