Mahindra launches 2025 Thar facelift with design, interior and feature updates.
Mahindra has introduced the facelifted Thar with prices ranging from Rs. 9.99 lakhs to Rs. 16.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). The updated SUV brings minor design changes on the outside, more notable interior revisions and an expanded features list, while continuing with the same set of engine and gearbox options.
Pricing and Variants
The facelifted Thar is offered in two trims, AXT and LXT, and is now exclusively available in a hardtop body style. Variant-wise pricing is as follows (ex-showroom):
- AXT RWD Diesel 1.5 – Rs. 9.99 lakhs
- LXT RWD Diesel 1.5 – Rs. 12.99 lakhs
- LXT RWD AT Petrol 2.0 – Rs. 13.99 lakhs
- LXT 4WD Petrol 2.0 – Rs. 14.69 lakhs

The facelift’s entry-level price undercuts the previous model’s starting tag by Rs. 32,000/-, while the top variant is dearer by Rs. 38,000/- compared to the outgoing Thar.
Exterior Changes
On the outside, the Thar facelift sports a new body-coloured front grille, a dual-tone front bumper and two fresh paint options – Tango Red and Battleship Grey. Other styling cues, including the headlights, tail-lamps and 18-inch alloy wheels, remain unchanged from the pre-facelift model.
Interior and Features
Inside, the updates are more extensive. The facelift gets an all-black dashboard theme, a new steering wheel, rear AC vents and door-mounted power window switches. Individual sliding armrests with storage, an A-pillar grab handle and an internally operated fuel lid add to everyday convenience.
In terms of features, the refreshed Thar now offers a 10.25-inch infotainment system with updated off-road data, along with a rear-view camera, rear wiper and washer.
Engines and Gearboxes
The mechanical package remains unchanged. The Thar continues with three engines: a 1.5-litre diesel (119 HP), a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol (152 HP) and a 2.2-litre diesel (132 HP). Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. While the 1.5 diesel is offered only in RWD form, the 2.2 diesel comes with standard 4WD and the 2.0 petrol is available with both RWD and 4WD configurations.
