Dow sheds over 240 points, S&P 500 and Nasdaq pull back from Wednesday’s records

All three major U.S. stock indexes closed lower Thursday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average started the day slightly higher, but trended lower throughout the day. By the end of trading, it was down 243.36 points, its largest drop since Sept. 12.

Meanwhile, both the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite briefly hit intraday highs in early trading, coming off of yesterday’s record closing highs. However, those gains turned to losses soon after.
