Tesla Model Y: battery pack and range update
Since its India launch in July 2025, Tesla has been offering the fully loaded Long Range RWD variant with a 78.1kWh battery pack with a WLTP-certified claimed range of 621km. Now, the EV maker has quietly updated this variant with an enhanced 661km range (39km more than before). Reports suggest that this has been achieved via a bigger 84.2kWh battery pack.
That being said, the electric motor mounted on the rear axle is unchanged as this variant continues to sprint from 0-100kph in 5.6 seconds.
The Standard RWD trim continues with the 64kWh battery pack and a claimed range of 500km (WLTP-rated). The 299hp rear-axle-mounted electric motor is also unchanged.
Other than the bigger battery pack and the additional claimed range, nothing else has been revised on the Model Y. From the sleek exterior design to the feature-loaded cabin, everything is the same as before.
Tesla Model Y price in India
Even though the battery pack has been updated, Tesla has not hiked prices of the Model Y. The Standard variant is still priced at Rs 59.89 lakh, while the Long Range variant is priced at Rs 67.89 lakh.
