Major automakers in India like Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki, and Tata have been witnessing increasing sales success with compact SUVs. While the earlier figures indicated strong demand, the volume of units being sold shot up markedly after the revision of GST rates in the latter half of September 2025.
The Tata Nexon sold 89,557 units between April and September 2025. In fact. the Nexon sold 4,655 more units than the next car. The Maruti Suzuki Brezza underwent a year-over-year sales decline of 9-percent, achieving total sales of 84,902 units.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx sold 76,805 units, followed by the Tata Punch with 73,455 units, and rounding off the top 5 is the Hyundai Venue with 49,978 units sold. The Kia Sonet sold 47,168 units between April and September 2025, while the Mahindra XUV 3XO sold 44,400 units over the same period.
Next up is the popular Hyundai Exter, which managed 32,967 units. It is followed by the Skoda Kylaq with 24,383 units sold, and the Mahindra Thar comes in last with sales of 19,132 units between April and September 2025.
