Dow ends up 200 points but S&P 500 and Nasdaq finish lower amid escalating trade tensions between the U.S. and China
U.S. stocks finished mostly lower in a volatile session Tuesday as investors monitored the escalating trade tensions between the U.S. and China.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose over 200 points, or 0.4%, to finish at 46,270, according to preliminary data from FactSet.
The S&P 500 fell 0.2%, to end at around 6,644.
The Nasdaq Composite was off 0.8%, ending near 22,521.
