Volkswagen Virtus: Is it a good car to tackle bad roads

The Volkswagen Virtus is comfy at the rear for two passengers and its ground clearance is ample for our roads.

I currently drive a VW Polo GT TSI, and I am looking for an additional car that can tackle really bad roads comfortably. It needs to have a big boot, should be able to seat four in reasonable comfort and cost under Rs 16 lakh, on-road.

Autocar India says: A logical upgrade from the Polo GT TSI is the VW Virtus 1.0 TSI, which will give you smooth and strong TSI power, the kind you are accustomed to. The Virtus has superb ground clearance that makes it suited for bad roads, and the boot is huge, too. The long wheelbase allows for a comfortable back seat and can seat four large adults comfortably.
