With the implementation of GST 2.0, prices of motorcycles below 350cc have dropped by around 10 percent, making several popular models more affordable. Among these, two of the most fiercely competitive offerings in the 200cc segment are the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. Both are homegrown products known for their strong performance, sharp styling, and impressive value, making this an interesting face-off between two Indian brands.

The Pulsar NS200’s price has been reduced by Rs 11,000

With the GST 2.0 coming into effect, the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 has received a price cut of Rs 11,000. It was earlier priced at Rs 1.43 lakh and now starts at Rs 1.32 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). In addition to the GST-related cost reduction, Bajaj is also currently offering benefits on processing fees and insurance to further enhance overall savings.

The NS200 is a popular motorcycle in India and was the first in the Pulsar range to introduce sophisticated liquid-cooling technology. It is powered by a 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 24.5hp and 18.7Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox.

TVS Apache RTR 200 4V price change after GST 2.0

The RTR 200 4V’s price has fallen by up to Rs 11,000

The starting price of the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V has dropped to Rs 1.41 lakh from its earlier price of Rs 1.45 lakh. The savings become even more substantial as you move up the variant range — the top-end model, which was previously priced at Rs 1.60 lakh, now costs Rs 1.49 lakh. This translates to an overall reduction of Rs 4,000 to Rs 11,000, depending on the variant.

The Apache RTR 200 4V range was recently updated with a redesigned front end, a new TFT display, and traction control. Powering the motorcycle is a 197.7cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that produces 20.8hp and 17.2Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

The Pulsar NS200 has a much lower starting price.

The NS200 has a significantly lower starting price compared to the Apache RTR 200 4V. However, it’s important to note that the NS200 is a much older product that hasn’t received a comprehensive update, apart from the addition of an LED headlight and a few minor tweaks. In contrast, the TVS has recently been refreshed with a new TFT dash, traction control, and a mono-projector headlight. At its current price, the Apache RTR 200 4V is Rs 9,000 more expensive than the NS200, and this gap widens further when you consider the top-spec Apache variant priced at Rs 1.49 lakh.
